"Google Shatters SHA-1 - Daily Security Byte" merupakan video berdurasi 6 menit 16 detik yang dirilis oleh Corey Nachreiner (https://youtu.be/ZaVGtc_xvOE) pada 24 Februari 2017. Video ini telah ditonton sebanyak 997 kali dan mendapatkan like sebanyak 27 kali. Video ini menceritakan mengenai Google yang berkerjasama dengan peneliti Belanda berhasil memecahkan SHA-1 dengan menciptakan collision. Sebenarnya beberapa tahun silam, para peneliti telah menemukan kelemahan SHA-1 yang menurunkan kompleksitas pembuatan collision dari 2^80 menjadi 2^69. Angka ini tentu masih besar, namun cukup signifikan secara eksponensial. Orang-orang terdahulu berpikiran bahwa kompleksitas itu masih tidak memungkinkan orang-orang jahat untuk membuat collision dari SHA-1 dikarenakan tidak cukupnya sumber daya untuk melakukan komputasi tersebut.
